Royal Humane Society

Becoming a Governor

Becoming a Governor of the Society provides an opportunity for those who are supporters of the Society to become a little more involved.

The Royal Humane Society is run by a Committee, who are the Trustees of the charity. Governors are invited to the Annual General Court, where they will meet Committee Members and fellow Governors, as well as some of the Society’s award recipients whose awards are being presented. Governors’ names are printed in the Annual Report, of which they will be sent a copy in recognition of their interest. Governors also receive priority invitations to our fundraising events.

Our Royal Charter, granted in 1959, stipulated a subscription of one guinea a year to become a Governor or ten guineas for a Life Governor. Unfortunately, we now have to charge a little more!

Life Governor             £1,000

Joint Life Governors   £1,500 for a couple

Governor                     £100 per annum

Joint Governor            £150 per annum

If you’d like to become a Governor please click on the ‘Become a Governor’ button and complete the details as requested.

You will be invited to fill in a Gift Aid Declaration and a Standing Order form if that is your preferred method of payment. If you are considering becoming a Life Governor you may wish to pay by cheque or BACS. Completing a Gift Aid Declaration will enable us to claim a further 25 pence in tax for each pound you donate.
